Public Dorkery

I recall some thread not too long ago (maybe in the D&D rules forum?) about someone who was wanting to pick up a hyena and use it as a club. Sadly, I can't seem to find it.

Sounds exactly like this article, though, right down to the "I was enlarged" comment.

Yeah, this, by the way, was the incident that spawned my Hyena-Chucks post over in Rules.

I'm thinking we should pitch in and get the wife some +2 Tupperware, as a way of saying, "Thanks for being such a swell gal."

It will also keep her from storing leftovers in the Temple. :D

MW Tupperware is fine, I do most of the cooking. A set of +2 cookware would be great though, or maybe a keen chefs knife that never goes dull :)

Something I was curious about...

The article said:
In DnD, he takes on the persona of a 2-foot lizard man with the ability to summon zombies.

Kobold Necromancer?

Just wondering what sort of character this is. Obviously the reporter was mostly lost in trying to describe it, but that was my guess.

So, I emailed this article to my mother last night (she has been trying to understand this "hobby" of mine for a while) saying it is kind of accurate, and if given the oportunity I would also like to beat someone senseless with a hyena (big props to that guy BTW). To which she actually called me (instead of e-mailing or IMing me) and asked about every part of the article. This also included "Why was one man calling the other man a hooker?" I dont think I have ever laughed that hard since my mother pulled the "I know what a DM is" card. Oh, and then she called me a geek as we got off the phone.

I've never heart "rtfm" that was in the glossary before. I'm guessing its a local term, or one that is used just by that group. Sounds like it might be military in origin.

Naw, its a techie term, usually used in frustration by desk bound techs when dealing with customers who can't be bothered to read the instructions included with thier products.
"My toaster oven doesn;t work"
"Did you RT(f)M?"
"well, no, should i?"
"Beats head against desk...."

Though I have used it in a military context before. Got me in a little trouble, as they gug I told to RTFM outranked me :)
