Publisher's Big Projects?

Heathen Oracle (PDF & POD) will hopefully have out its "Novice to Master" class guide for the Azieran World out by Septermbers end. Chris Heath used to write for Kenzer and is producing his own world now. Not just any slapped together world, he has been developing this enigma for 12 years, completely has the world mapped out (designed on 112/ 8.5 x 11 sheets of paper) , and has 3 novels competely finished that will also be available soon based on the world. Together with artists (myself), Jeremy Jarvis, and Mark Brooks, we are really bringing the classes of the world alive in full color. When that comes out, we will also have a free full color download of one of his countries from the world usable for play. It can be fit into any system, but primarily designed for d20.

I should have Artifacts of the Arcane Vol 4 out by then as well. I also have planned a couple of small art oriented projects slated for RPGnow, that hasn't been done yet.

Sounds intriguing. Can you tell me more about this?
A pretty standard adventure (no wait, I mean it's extraordinary :) ) involving a literal tree that a god of knowledge used as his primary temple ages ago. Many powerful artifacts were stored in the tree and the deity decided that much power in one place was dangerous, so he hid the tree (even from his own followers).

Through dreams (received by the players or trusted friends thereof), the party is told that someone with plans to use all of that power has found the important clue to finding the tree and, if not stopped, bad stuff will happen. The party are given the fateful clue and asked to find the tree, stop the interloper, and save reality, etc. etc.

After a romp through a forest (full of other folk who's patron deities have told them to look for the tree here), they come to the tree and find someone has entered before them. They must find him before he can make use of the knowledge (all the knowledge in the world really) in the tree.

The best features of the adventure are 1) that the wilderness part of the adventure is not just tacked on. The existance of the other searchers adds to the tension (I hope). 2) It's a dungeon inside a tree. Probably done many times before but I haven't seen it used as literal metaphor for knowledge. "This branch is about geography...." 3) It's set at a sweet spot of level, I hope.

It's been delayed so long because the original playtest I did, involved a beholder, a party of yuan-ti and a few other no-no's since the 3.0 SRD went live. When I heard the 3.5 SRD was coming, the adventure was back-burnered. I should be bringing it forward by the end of the year and hope it will come out over the winter.

(That's a lot longer than I expected.)

Ok...
LE2---Have to check with Doug on that one...Ed already discussed OWP new book.

I believe the current plan is compiling LEs 1-4 and 3.5'ing them and releasing 'em next year. Crimson Contracts is next up in the queue of MEG ENPublishing/Ambient imprints, I believe.

I'll play Street Fighter D20 when someone puts a gun to my head and forces me to. Love the video game, but I do not see how it can be made into anything more than an arena fighting game and I can do that by myself :P

For me, AEG's Empire, which just came out, slipped right under the radar. I guess that's what happens when it's not on the web page and no one familiar with AEG's products speaks up eh? Ah well, it looks good anyway. Anyone know what the next books are? I'm hoping that they do a Cities book. How about the L5R series? With SotDragon coming out, I'm not sure what else they've got to cover outside of the obvious Ronin, Ratmen, Naga, etc...

For MEG, Crimson Contracts eh? Will this not only get the 3.5 treatment but also some balance acts for the PrCs and other material? I'm always leery of a product that doesn't balance it's material. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with a powerful class but it should either have abilities that cost experience points, or have a higher CR or something to equal it out. Being meant for NPC use is really not excuse. That higher CR thing might be the route to go as a lower one works for NPC classes eh?

Malhavok Press seems to be indicating that a collected Book of Eldrich Might is coming out. I've got high hopes for that one. It'll be nice to see. Hope that they come out with a Ptolus city campaign too.

Hey Wulf, when is Grimm Tales hitting the streets? Been looking over the Modern Player's Companion and it got me thinking of Pulp Action via Grimm Tales.

RPG Objects: Darwin's World 2nd Edition eh? Will that included the monsters or is that getting a seperate book? The first monster book still gets some use in my fantasy campaign and boy, player's sure don't like those mutant bears I tell you.

Yes, 2nd Edition will contain all the monsters. So the new edition, roughly 380 pages, should be all anyone needs to build Post Apocalyptic adventures.

Granted we will still do several supplements for Darwin's World.

In fact, we haven't official announced it yet, but we have a one of the Gamma World writers working on a Darwin’s World supplement. :)
