Doesn't strike a chord with me. Just doesn't seem like the Punisher. Instead, it just seems like any other revenge action flick. Maybe its the bad choice of music, not sure. Maybe its the pacing. I always pictured anything to do with the Punisher as slow and brooding and seething.

Who knows? I hope it makes a mint though. The guy playing Frank Castle & I went to high school together. While we aren't close, I know he's been pursuing an acting career since he was 15 and deserves a mega-hit after all the cr*p he's gone through.

Seems just like the Punisher to me. I can't think of any reason why a Punisher flick wouldn't be like many other action revenge flicks. . .that's what the Punisher is, at least initially. Music wasn't too great. Slow, brooding, and seething? A little broody and seethy, but I've always pictured the Punisher as quite face-paced, with bursts of very fast-paced. When I heard of this project, I wasn't too interested (bad Dolph memories), but it looks better than I expected.

I know its blasphemy but I didn't mind the Dolph version. *ducks and runs*

Could just be a bad trailer. Whenever I read the punisher I always had this impression of bitterness and seeting hate that could never be calmed. I just don't pick any of that up from the trailer. And I know its just a tiny segment of the movie and I can't just the whole movie by it, but that careless driving need for revenge should be the one thing that comes through and it doesn't.

The trailer didn't catch my interest at all. It looks like slightly lower than standard hollywood fare, from the trailer that is.

Anyone know why I can't view this, or any, trailer from Apple.com? I used to be able to from my PC here at work, but now I can't. Frustrating. I'd like to check out this trailer.

The most obvious possibility is that you need to upgrade your Quicktime Viewer plugin. If you're running older than version 6, you might not be able to see the trailers. There should be a link on the main Quicktime page on Apple's site for the free download.

I have a couple of problems with what I know about this film:

1. They turned Frank Castle from a decorated veteran soldier into a cop. This was way more than just a background detail for the character. It informed everything he did. Frank Castle was at WAR with crime, and approached it like a soldier would.

2. Travolta. I wanna like the guy, but he's got a bad track record lately. He's alright when he's not hamming it up and doing his berserk thing, but this looks like more of the same.

3. Not quite as important as the first two, but it looks like it takes place in Miami Beach or some sort of tropical locale. Waaaaay wrong feel. Punisher just screams "New York" or any dirty metropolis to me.

I agree, and this is actually very important.

This looked like Miami Vice, not the Punisher.

It was filmed in Tampa, actually. After the initial teaser I was looking forward to this in a "so bad its funny" kind of way. Now it just looks "wasted two hours of your life" bad....
