Level Up (A5E) Quesrion about Journey Activities

So: I love the journey rules, finally a way to make journeys interesting without going hexcrawl (that I personally find super-tedious), and I really like the journey activities.
There os one thing I'm not sure I understand though:

A lot of activities, when successful, say: "gain X for the number of days you spent doing this activity".
For some of them it's clear, if I Busk for 10 days I get 10 golds+1 per point above the DC.
Others are not so clear to me.

Let's take Pray for example. On a success "the adventurer gains a blessing for each day spent doing this activity, gaining an expertise die on the next ability check they make in this region".
So if I pray for 10 daus does this mean that during the 10 days I gain one expertise die for the first check I make or I get the expertise die for the first 10 checks I make? Or something else?
Because in the first case, let's say I make the checl on the 3rd day after I make the check why would I keep praying for the next 7 days?
In the second case it's a lot to keep track of (especially if more people choose this kind of activities).
Same question comes up with activities like chronicle, cover tracks, entertain, etc...

For pray, I would interpret it to gain an experience die for each day you spend. EG if you spend 3 days, on a success you would increase the expertise die for each day. 1d4>1d6>1d8. You wouldn't use it longer than it would take to max out your expertise dice (similar to how you maybe wouldn't hunt and gather if everyone was already at max supply early in a trip).

Pray's expertise die only lasts within the region as well so if you do it too long, it's going to limit what else you can use it on.
