Question about Epic DR

In 3.0, critters had DR such as 10/+2 or 15/+4... now, when a magic item is needed to bypass a DR, any +1 will suffice (I'm not taking into account other DR aspects such as materials or aligned weapons).

What about epic DR ? Will any +6 or higher suffice to affect, say, a Devastation Spider (ElH P. 178) ? It is 35/+8 in the ElH, but with 3.5, will any +6 will do ?

I would really appreciate if someone can tell me where to look (in which book) to find this info.

Thanks !

This can be found in the back of the MM in the Damage Reduction section.

You are correct, any weapon of +6 or greater enhancement is considered epic.

Furthermore, creatures that have Epic DR grant the same property to their own weapons.

In your specific case, refer to the 3.5 conversion guide where it gives new DR for monsters from the ELH.

IIRC, Devastation vermin received DR of 20/-- meaning that, no, the could not bypass epic DR.

Thanks gFunk, that was very helpful !

You just gave me the OK to throw about any epic critter at my party now that they have +6 weapons. :D

OK...

I just finished writing with a pen the new DR's in the ELH. (Took me an hour...)

Then, I saw that there was MUCH more to re-write for each monster.

No. Way.

I don't give a damn, I am NOT going to pen all that. There isn't enough room in the book. I'm just gonna use the critters as is with the new DR's and that's that.

Man... if they'd reprint the ELH softcover, to cut down costs, I would buy it right away.

This sucks mate...
