Question about MM3 fire elemental

Triggered Actions

Seething Fire (Fire) At-Will

Trigger: An attack hits the elemental.

Effect (Free Action): Each enemy adjacent to the elemental takes 5 fire damage.

It's an at-will, but also a triggered free action. That occurs every time it gets hit, not just once a round, right?

If so, nifty!

I think I've been spending too much time around immediate actions, and I'm second-guessing myself.

You got it. Every time the trigger (hitting) happens, the elemental takes the free action.

I lurve me some MM3 design.

The MM3 single-element elementals are very cool and I really like their design. I love the way their powers escalate from the lesser to the greater versions- they are variant powers that are similar but better as the elemental gets buffer.

Completely agreed, the MM3 is fantastic, and the elementals are great design. The ability for a (greater?) fire elemental to "flicker" (shift) is just fantastic imagery.

Yep. Only thing to add is that free actions are reactions unless they need to be interrupts to work per the latest errata.

Yep. very painful, very fun,. Especially if used to pay back warlocks who have been finding creative ways to get hit to trigger curses.

Oooohh even non damaging hits cause this... Sick!
