Question About Reach

You might know where he is, but you still can't see him and have to target the square.

Although, if I were running that game, I wouldn't be too particular about that - if the enemy knows where you are and can still reach you, I'd let him target you as normal, unless you actually beat his passive perception.

Not that it's likely to come up very often.

Doesn't this make the Barreling Charge feat from PHB3 completely useless? It sounds to me like they were so intent on making sure each square of movement was closer to the enemy that they accidentally removed the restriction on stopping in the nearest space.

Errata making a feat useless? Surely you jest.

And yes, it does. No, it wasn't an accident, it was causing all sorts of dumb issues for both Monsters and PCs.

The extent of the reach wasn't made explicitly obvious. It was a large creature, so I figured it had a reach of some sort, but the DM didn't specify anything. Also, thanks for all the responses. It's nice to have some outside input into situations like this.

Thanks for raising the question ... I was under the false belief that reach or not, charges required you to end adjacent.
