People have complained about all kinds of buffing spells for a long time. Stat boosts were just worse than usual since they modified multiple numbers.
I think WotC is going to try to keep the number of them to a minimum. Maybe they'll all use the same bonus type so you don't have multiple such buffs on one character.
And, of course, splatbooks will probably break that, but who didn't see that coming?
