Question about tonight's South Park

Not really fantasy, but this is probably the best forum for it.

There was a disclaimer at the beginning of the episode that the Lemmiwinks episode wasn't airing this week because of a tragedy in Hawaii. I obviously haven't kept up on the news, so anyone happen to know what tragedy they were talking about? The only thing I can find is a shark attack... and I don't think that's it. I suspect it was something that happened Easter weekend.

I kinda figured it was some kind of joke, too. Of course, there is the possibility they've had some horrible run-in at the new Krispy Kreme donut store in Hawaii, but I'd say that's a long-shot.

That's what I thought at first as well... but I'm not so sure to just write it off. It seems a pretty odd joke to hype an episode and then simply not show it.

They did it at the beginning of season two, for the episode where you find out who Cartman's father is. They got death threats. A lot of em. I wonder if it happened again tonight. I thought it was funny, though I didn't expect it. :)

The Cartman's dad thing was suposted to be a joke, but it backfired, badly. So they had to get that episode on air quick. With this Lemmiwinks thing, that character is not major. So they might have planned this little joke from the start.

But it's Lemmiwinks, dammit! I was looking forward to that episode ALL WEEK!!

According to TVTome.com, they had production problems and had to push the air date back...I have no clue about the Hawaii comment though.

I haven't heard anything about Hawaii in the last week. Not one news story at all. Maybe it was completely destroyed including all the news people there who could report about it.
