Question....

Would a decanter of endless water on the gyser setting do damage to a fire elemental?

Looks like water doesn't really damage fire elementals at all from their entry. They just 'cannot' enter a water or non-flammable liquid environment.

Ask your DM, you are subject to his ruling. RAW basically says nothing about extenguishing a fire elemental...as Nail said.

It's creative, yes, but it's mechanically lacking in effectiveness. :)

Alright, just a quick question. Since a healing potion must be drank, what would happen if the potion is used for it's liquid and thrown at a fire elemental? My thinking is that pouring a healing potion onto a campfire would put the fire out...

A potion is a single ounce of liquid.

Not nearly enough fluid to put out a campfire, let alone inconvience a fire elemental.

If liquid could put the kaibosh on fire elementals I'd say a potion's worth would do wonders against a fine or diminuative fire elemental.

Sadly the smallest they have stats for is small IIRC.

I would probably treat a decanter of endless water as a single (non-fire based) scorching ray to a fire elemental.

Be a real man and just grapple the thing!

<smiles> BTW, what does a quenched fire elemental look like? A wet dog, maybe?

More like a wet cat, I think. It would have to be really pissed off, and few things are more homicidal than a wet cat.

If cartoons have taught me nother else, it's that a quenched fire elemental should look like the burnt remains of a spent wooden matchstick.

With a pair of blinky eyes.
