Questions about Geomancer

Actually, not. A much overlooked excerpt from the PHB and SRD:

"Regardless of whether a skill is purchased as a class skill or a cross-class skill, if it is a class skill for any of your classes, your maximum rank equals your total character level + 3."

Reading this, even if I take Marshal1 and then go into Paladin, if I'm human with Able Learner as my starter feat, I can get my skills straight up by level 3.

Nah, Geomancer could only advance the Sorc or Cleric class. M-T is used to boost the spellcasting of both classes overall.

Clarifying a bit: in that build, I almost always advance the Clc casting with the Geomancer PrCl. The M-T advances both, and keeps the Sorc spellcasting right at the level that the Geomancer allows to be cast in full armor. Practiced Spellcaster helps keep the potency of the spells roughly commensurate with the character's level.
