Questions about M&M?

Thanks for this thread! Your descriptions of M&M (and SAS) couldn't have come at a better time.

I'm a longtime player of HERO (back to the very first version), and am familiar with many of the superhero games out there who has been jonesing for a supers game for the past 6 years- most of my fellow gamers don't want to learn a new system other than D&D and Palladium, and they're not too hyped about Palladium.

However, the recent release of City of Heroes has sparked an interest in possibly playing a Supers RPG in these sticks in the mud. Combined with M&M and SAS, I may actually get to play a PC who wears spandex this year!

Personally, I'd rather play HERO, but from what I've read here, I could be pretty happy with either of the two.

I'm not the great Steve Kenson but I'll give you my opinion anyways. It's sort of common for incorporeal characters to partially phase into another character to deal damage. The Vision, from Marvel's Avengers, as well as a couple other characters does this on a regular basis.
I see, I see. I don't really know that many incorporeal superheroes, and thought this partial incorporeality was a rather novel thought. Looks like this is not really the case. :)

Random thoughts inspired by the thread so far:

The Vision was the first that I know of to use partial materialization to disrupt things, but the Flash also did a variation on that theme.

I now have read my copy of M&M more in depth, and the suggestion that it occupies a middle ground between HERO and straight up D20 seems pretty accurate.

Is there an estimated day when we will see this second printing on the shelves or available form Amazon or some other web retailer?

Also, I know this thread will be M&M biased to and extent, but what is the real difference between M&M and SAS? My friends are keen to play a superhero game and are looking to play M&M, i'm just curious.

I'm thinking of taking my exsisting Spycraft game and transposing it to M&M. It should prove to be interesting.

As an aside, when does the revised M&M core rulebook hit the shelves for the general public? I can't find a specific release date on the Green Ronin website.

The 2nd printing of the M&M core book is shipping from the printers. It should be in stores this month, but probably toward the end of the month, depending on how much the holiday weekend slows things down.

I just ordered Freedom City, the GM Screen and Time of Crisis...any word on when the Annual will be out, Steve?

And just as importantly, the new errata?

AFAIK, the Annual is on the same slow boat from China as the 2nd Ed. M&M.
