Thanks for this thread! Your descriptions of M&M (and SAS) couldn't have come at a better time.
I'm a longtime player of HERO (back to the very first version), and am familiar with many of the superhero games out there who has been jonesing for a supers game for the past 6 years- most of my fellow gamers don't want to learn a new system other than D&D and Palladium, and they're not too hyped about Palladium.
However, the recent release of City of Heroes has sparked an interest in possibly playing a Supers RPG in these sticks in the mud. Combined with M&M and SAS, I may actually get to play a PC who wears spandex this year!
Personally, I'd rather play HERO, but from what I've read here, I could be pretty happy with either of the two.
