I am glad you all are enjoying this anthology. The whole team worked very hard on it! "When a Star Falls" is one of my favorite adventures. Many of the old UK adventures were ahead of their time!
Really appreciate the work that went into these, it makes me very interested to get into the new Starter Set and see what you folks do with that in spite of not really needing a "beginners box" and having B2 Keep on the Borderlands already.

I hope you like it! Quests inspired some of the philosophies we applied to the upcoming Starter Set, but that product is unlike anything we have done before (or at least as long as I've been at Wizards). I can't wait to use that set to teach new groups how to play. I might be a little biased, but I think there's a lot to love for fans of all ages and experience levels. 😁

Whist we are talking about this, I thought it would be a good place to share some of my thoughts on running Barrier Peaks from this book, since I'm just coming to the end with my group.
  • The maps are beautiful. But in the normal course of play, only the DM gets to see them. Suggestion: there are screens dotted around the ship. If the players are on good terms with the computer, it can show them the map of the current level. In a tabletop game, give the players a printed version. This saves on mapping and doesn't really give away anything important.
  • Even cut down from the original, the ship is still huge and cavernous. Notice that the grid squares are 10 ft, not 5, and allow plenty of time. My lot have been exploring the ship for over 12 hours (real world time) now.
  • The difficulty seems to be based around a long encounter day, since most of the encounters are only a threat to a depleted party of the stated level. However, as written it is easy to take a long rest. The random encounters are fairly weak, and most can be stymied by a key card door. I would try running it either with a time limit or at a level lower than stated (10 instead of 11).
As an aside, my players are convinced they are aboard Golgafrinchan Ark Ship B.

Can't wait to see the Starter Set!

Also got to say that Beyond the Crystal Cave came at the perfect time in this anthology. We had two players pretty new to TTRPGs join our group mid When a Star Falls, and they were doing great, but it was the Eternal Garden that really opened up their games, which is rolling right into Pharaoh.
