I want to play a gelatinous cube barbarian. Can't you see me charging into combat, screaming my battle cry? "jiggle-jiggle-jiggle-RAWRR!"

The imagery behind this is absolutely fantastic.:lol::lol:

(pictures a gel cube with a big furry horned hat, a battle axe poking through one side and a shield sort of lodged into the other)

I knew I had this around somewhere...

The nice thing is, you wouldn't even have to end your charge with an attack!

Actually, though, given their stat bonuses 8e gelatinous cubes will have surprising synergy with archer rangers.

The Gel cube is used to great effect in a Paizo adventure (I think it's the Game Mastery D1 Crown of the Kobold King adventure). Spoiler...

The PC's hear of a song of a dwarven adventurer ghost that carries a shining axe. Later in the adventure, as they are travelling down the hall, they see a suit of armor with a brightly glowing axe floating slowly down the hallway (I has the axe grinding on the floor making a scraping sound).

The party, thinking this was the ghost, tried to talk to it, and after hearing no responses, moved closer to investigate. It was then that they discovered the truth of the matter, that there was a cube in the hallway.

I really need to re-run this adventure, it's a really good one.

Yeah, in my world, Oozes and G-cubes (word) were created to clean the sewers. And yet, adventurers still go down there, even when there are big signs at the entrance that say "Beware of Gelatinous Cubes"!

My last group of adventurers, though, went down there with packs full of baking powder (I should have suspected something when they asked how much baking powder they could get for 10 gold) hunting the cube. They used the powder as ammo, throwing five 10 lb sacks of it into the cube and then running for their lives. (They were only level 2 at the time.)

They even had made rolls to see if the alchemists (Wizard and Cleric) and the naturalist (Ranger) would be able to work it out by talking to each other.

I had to reward that kind of ingenuity so I had the poor cube froth up and explode.

They were finally able to give the paladin a proper burial, and collect the chest he was carrying full of their gold.

Good times.
