Quickstart rules from D&DExp

Anyone else notice that they mentioned 'Opportunity Actions' before the well-marked 'Opportunity Attack'? Implying that you may be able to do something else other than attack? Could be interesting.

As for the 15 min. workday issue, I think the proliferation of at-will and per-encounter spells makes the loss of one per-day ability relatively minor. Unless your player's names are all Cheesy McBeardstein Von Metagamer, it shouldn't be a problem, and if it is you've got a problem that no rules can fix.

- healing surge. You can do it to yourself once per encounter? That doesn't take much of the burden off the cleric (or warlord). And are there healing powers that don't use up healing surges? If not, there isn't much space for encounters before camping. maybe 2-3 encounters.

Don't forget about the part where there's no limit apparently to healing surges outside of combat. So a fighter could use a surge in combat, win the fight, find a place to rest for 5 minutes, heal up ALL the way, then be ready for next encounter later.

A fighter 1 can heal his entire value in hit points around three times a day, and then some, aparently.

That isn't the way I understood it. You're still ticking off uses of the healing surge if you use them out of combat.

Yes, but you're not worrying about the one-surge-per-encounter limit.

Opportunity attack isn't incorrect grammar and I think it's a less cumbersome name. Honestly I think 90% of the confusion and negative response to AoOs was that the name was unwieldy.
Damn... that word "Of" yeah... thats the unwieldy part of the whole thing is it?

Really? Although there have been innumerable threads complaing about AoOs, I don't remember seeing anyone complain about the name being unwieldy....

It's funny. For the duration of 3e, people bitched and complained how the 3e books read like textbooks - dry, boring, bland. Here, we have a conversational style, and people bitch about how it's dumbing down the hobby.

Sigh. Complain about the folds no?

- running and charging are rather poor options. +1 and can't use a power? Subpar
+2 squares and give combat advantage? Never want to do that...

But you can subst. a move for your standard. I wonder if you can run for more than one of your move actions. If so, you could do a you could possible do a movex3 + 6 !
One move from your standard action
One move from your move action
One move from your 1/day extra action

Since you can do a shuffle, or whatever they are calling the 5 ft move now, this should allow you withdraw and runaway pretty effectively without suffering an OAtk.
