QuickTime Crashing FireFox and Explorer

For some reason QuickTime has started crashing my computer, but only on certain sites - if I try looking at the Midnight Chronicles trailer at Fantasy Flight for example the browser crashes, both FF and IE seem to suffer from this. So does the trailer for The Red Baron. You Tube and similar sites seem to run fine though.

The problem is pretty recent, and I have little idea as to the cause.

Youtube is flash, not quicktime. The other two sites are both quicktime, so yah, I think there's a problem with it.

I would uninstall quicktime, reboot, and then download a fresh copy from Apple and install it. Probably that'll take care of it.

First thing I tried. :? The viewing window fills up with green and a number of hash marks.

I will try it again, this time deleting the parent folder.

Any ideas as to registry entries that might need to be cleared as well?

*EDIT* It appears to be a known issue between Quicktime and the NVidia drivers, complaints dating back to June.... It appears that NVidia and Apple are squabbling about who's drivers are at fault....

Quick work around - disable Direct Draw under preferences. Not an ideal solution, but better than the Green Screen of Death (tm).

*EDIT* And damn! but I want to see The Red Baron when it comes out....
