You maneuver the wagon over to the storage building. The working men eye you warily, especially Tor and his chain, but eventually most of them ignore you and return to their work. As Valan works on releasing BusterJack from the harness and Kerrz starts removing your gear from the wagon, Horton makes his way back over to you.

"So, how long you've been workin' for Lorne anyway? I weren't awares he'd hired any new hands this year."

"Just doing him a favor while travelling through, actually. We're looking into some bandit activity in the area, and came to his farm to ask about an incident that had happened nearby. I don't suppose you've heard anything about the bandits?"

Horton spits on the dirt, "Ayep, heard about the attacks on the wagons, figure those bandits are also the reason we're missin' a dozen head o' cattle and some sheep, too. We had a posse out searchin' the south grazin' land but they didn't turn up nothin' useful, just some broken junk that may 'r may not be from the bast'ds."

"Mind if we check those out? Are the south grazing area on the owners land? Is Mr. Traver around? Could we speak with him?" Asking calmy, waiting for an answer before asking the next question. As he talks, Valan will fit the saddle back on BJ.

Horton looks at the cleric for a moment, trying to absorb the rapid-fire questions. "Mr. Travers is up in the main house, don't know if he's in the mood fer visitors. As for the rubbish that were found, I think we still have it 'round somewheres if'n ya really want it." Horton walks over to another farmhand and has a few words with him, then returns shortly. "Dak'll be bringin' the stuff to ya shortly."

"Thanks, you've been a big help, maybe this'll be the stuff the buts us anouther step closer to finding those bastards" Valan grins, and waits patiently, eventually turning toward his comrades, "Thought's on talking to Mr.Traver?"

Gideon furrows his brow for a moment, considering. "We should speak with him, but not waste too much time if it seems that he knows nothing."

After several minutes, Dak approaches you. He's pushing a wheelbarrow containing a large sack and several other pieces of debris. "Not sure why you want this stuff, but here ya go."

As you look through the junk you find, among other things, a broken black shaft that appears to be a mate to the one Tor found. Kerrz, thanks to his familiarity with horses, also finds a few strips of leather with metal fastenings that he claims is part of a wagon harness for a horse or similar beast of burden.
