R1: Hired Hands (nimisgod judging)

"Excellent" claping his hand togeather "Just so you know we'll be going straight to Rivensdale after Traver's, would you like us to leave the wagon there or return it on our way back?"

Valan gives, BJ some feed, and helps the farmer hook him up. Once done, he'll find a confortable postion and finish his talk with Lourne.

OOC: are there any other paths to the road, except that one dirt road and the possiblity of just going through crops

Lorne finishes harnessing BJ to the wagon, "Sure, you can leave the wagon at Travers'. If you wait here, I'll go get your pay." Lorne heads into the house, where his wife and son have already retreated. A few minutes later he returns with a large sack.

"I'm sorry it can't be more, but here's some foodstuffs to help sustain you on your journey." Lorne hands the sack over and then backs out of the way so you can leave.

Once you begin moving, Kerrz quickly takes a look inside, "Hey, we got bread, cheese, a ham, and even a couple of apples in here! This is much better than trail rations." Kerrz seems very pleased with the payment.

ooc: Driving through the farmer's fields with his own wagon probably isn't the best idea. The dirt track is the only way back to the Western Road.

"On the road again" Valan trys to motion to the others that he's taking the long way, and eagerly sets off. "Toss me an apple. You know I could get use to this adventuring thing"

Apon reaching the party again "Ahoy there, how'd the search go?"

ooc: The wagon is has room for two people plus the load of feed & gear in the back. Right now Valan & Kerrz are riding in the wagon with Ragnikyr, Tor & Gideon on foot.

Tor would feel silly being so paranoid as to suggest that the farmer may have given them poisoned provisions, so he remains silent. He does not, however, partake of the tempting fresh food at this time. Chain at the ready, he walks beside the wagon keeping an eye out for bandits.

The trip takes about an hour, just as the farmer mentioned, and passes uneventfully. You find yourself on the Western Road stopped in front of a large woodbeam arch. There's a plain looking but solid wood plank gate in the arch and beyond is a well maintained path leading to what appears to be a rather large complex of buildings.

The gate is closed, but not locked. The complex is too far away to make out details, but you can see movement and hear noise coming from near the buildings.
