"Well then, let's get this errand over with. Maybe they know something about the bandit activity around here." And with that, Gideon pushes open the gate.
"I certainly hope so, too many attack for no one to know anything" While Gideon opens the gate, Valan pauses and concetrates, attempting to puzzle out the nearby sounds
[sblock] Sorry about the unexplained absance, but in related news, for better or worse, my life has return to the way it was before this past month of spotty posting. and my brain stopped talking [/sblock]
As you travel down the track to the farm, you see several men moving about. One of the notices you and hurries over to another man standing at the entrance to one of the barns who is overseeing some activity taking place inside. The man at the barn, someone evidently with some authority, yells one last order to those inside before making his way deliberately toward you. You find yourself at the edge of a large expance of dirt surrounded by various buildings and pens.
"And who might you be?" the man calls to you as he crosses the last few yards to stand right in front of BusterJack.
Valan pulls up on the reins and puts on his best smile "My men and I were just making some deliveries, please excuse the intrustion. No one was around and the gates were open. I am Valan Ceth, and you would be?" Valan relaxes his body language, hoping the man will follow suit
Gideon's jaw grinds a bit when Valan refers to them as "his men", but relaxes it quickly and tries to play along, aware that this area seems a bit unusual.
Tor smiles encouragingly to the man, and says "Could you tell us which farm this is, Sir, so we might know if we have managed to bring the items to the right place?"
The man looks thoughtfully at you, "M'name's Horton, and this is Mr. Travers' ranch. If'n your makin' a delivery, I reckon you must have our feed from down the road. If so, go ahead and take it right over into that building there." Horton indicates a smaller building to the left of the one he was working in.
"Let's complete our delivery then. Valan, can you move the wagon into the building, and then unhook Buster Jack from the wagon?"
Tor will keep an eye out while this is being accomplished. Thinking about the bolt in his pack, he wonders if the local farmers might know anything about the bandits... or if they might be in league with them. As he walks alongside the wagon, he twirls his chain lazilly.
Valan laughs "I wouldn't have it any other way, I'll be back it a few minutes, Heyah!" Guiding BJ to the bulding, he will find a place to park it, and unhook BJ.
Is anyone around? What are they doing? Whats else is in the here?
