R1: Hired Hands (nimisgod judging)

"You've done some good work here, Tor. Still, I fear we might be barking up the wrong treant. All other things being equal," says Ragnikyr, "my vote is to get back on the road and pursue our original plan."

"We do have a limited amount of time to investigate," Gideon says thoughtfully. "And we know where this farm is. Can we get to Ravensdale, ask some questions, and get back here to check up on Dak in the time we have left?"

"Allright then, let's move on if you prefer."

Tor casts a last glance in the direction he believes Dak to have gone in, still suspicious of the farmhand's behavior.

It is well into afternoon by the time you make your way back to the Western Road. You figure you have a few hours of daylight left so you head out toward Ravensdale. How long do you plan to travel?

The group travels for a couple of hours, until the sun starts to drop low in the western sky. The trip has been uneventful, a wild bear frolicking in the distance about an hour before the only thing of note. Ragnikyr suggests stopping for the night while there's enough daylight to set up a decent campsite.

Tor looks the bear over when it comes into view. Does it seem to be behaving abnormally for a Bear in any way? Could it be examning the groups progress?

Do Bears frollick? he wonders. Rats, bears... I'm beginning to mistrust things shaped like animals generally. Maybe my thought about wererats was too exotic... surely Druids are more common than wererats? Why would a Druid be watching us? Maybe bears do frollick after all....

The bear pays the group the least bit of attention, it seems seems intent on soaking up the late afternoon sun and taking the occasional swipe at a pair of butterflies that are flitting about.

"Watch rotation same as before -- that good for everyone?"

I'll try to find some area a bit off the road that looks like a promising campsite, and then get down to it.

Cheers,
Roger
