R2: Rats in a Maze [Manzanita judging]

Fimble McGee, Gnome Illusionist

Fimble rocks back and forth on his feet and twirls his small quarterstaff while they wait. "I'm not sure if I want a sewer entrance to be in this place," he muses. "I mean to say, if there isn't, we wouldn't be any closer to discovering the culprits. But if there is..." The little gnome shudders at the thought.

"Good evening, Mr. Lynch. My name is Babette Delacroix. My associates and I are working for the Merchants Council," as she shows her identification card. "We understand there was something in the nature of a break in here not too long ago, and we would like to take a look at the crime scene, and, hopefully, speak with whomever discovered the crime."

Gideon takes up a position against one of the walls, his arms crossed in front of his chest, and his customary scowl set into place. He listens to Babette's introduction and nods at appropriate times.

ooc for the party:[sblock]I'm still around. This is just a note to the other players that Gideon is more of a strong silent type when it comes to the negotiations or discussions, so don't confuse being quiet with being uninterested. Besides, Babette, Fimbul, and Metrius are doing a fine job. :)[/sblock]

Orman listens to Babette's introduction, a slight frown on his face. "Yes, well, we did have an incident a couple of weeks ago, but it was nothing major. Just some local punks who broke a window and ransacked one of my spare rooms. I've been assured by the Banking Guild that they are looking into the matter and will deal with the perpetrators."

"Sir, while it seems likely that it is just a band of thugs, we need to investigate all possibilities thoroughly for our investiagation. Would it be a terrible inconvienience if we were to take a look at the scene? I can assure you we will not trouble you for longer than is absolutely necessary", Metrius says, keen to find any further clues which may yet present themselves.

Orman stands up, "Of course, I can show you where the vandalism took place but I don't know how much good it will do. As I said, it happened over two weeks ago and the mess has been cleaned up."

The older gentleman leads you to a room at the back corner of the house, on the first floor. "They broke that window there, and trashed the contents of this room. Broken chairs and such, really quite a mess."
