R2: Rats in a Maze [Manzanita judging]

The ethereal glow flies from Fimbles hand and streaks after the fleeing man. The range isn't quite enough, however, as it fades out before reaching the alley. Fimble sighs and takes off in pursuit as fast as his little legs will take him.

Tor hurries into the alley after Dak.[sblock=Tor: ]You enter the alley and, chain swinging menecingly from your hands, call out to Dak. "Stop in the name of the law!" You see he is stopped, sprawled on the flagstones paving the narrow alleyway. Apparently he lost his balance on the rain-slicked stones. He looks up at you, terror momentarily flashing in his eyes. There's no sign of anyone, or thing, else in the alley.[/sblock]
Metrius rushes down the street and follows Tor into the alley.[sblock=Metrius: ]You rush forward on the heels of Tor and enter the alleyway (double move takes you just into the alley). You see the big man twirling his chain menacingly and, farther down the alley (approx. 25' past Tor), your quarry is laying on the ground.[/sblock]

 

[Dungannon]

Start of round 3

[sblock=Tor & Metrius: ]Dak scrambles to his feet, hands held out in front, and slowly backs away from Tor."What do you want with me? I haven't done anything. Leave me alone!"

Babette enters the alley behind you. She takes a moment to gather in the scene. "What's going on here? Why did you run?"

ooc:stand (move action) & 5' step backward.[/sblock]

Babette keeps up pursuit and reaches the alleyway.

Gideon's turn

 

[Patlin]

Calling out "Your wanted for questioning! Make no sudden moves and you won't get hurt." Tor aproaches Dak.

ooc: Move action: to move adjavent to Dak, then ready an action to attack (trip attack) if Dak attempts to fight or flee. Also, even a withdraw action would draw an AOO due to reach.

Metrius races round the corner, his morning star drawn in pursuit of the man. Seeing Tor standing over the man, he skids to a halt, arm outstretched against a nearby wall as he tries not to slip on the damp cobblestones. Holding himself up against the wall as he catches his breath, he starts to question the man "Why have you been following us? Who sent you?"

 

[IcyCool]

OOC: If Dak is still on the ground when Gideon gets to him, Gideon will haul him to his feet (Grapple) and hold him against the wall of the alley while the others question him.

 

[Dungannon]

[sblock=Gideon: ]ooc: It will take a full run action for Gideon to reach Dak, and that will require a Dex check. If you pass the Dex check, you still won't be able to grapple him this round to pin him to the wall because of the full run. He is standing when you enter the alley, which you can do with a double move that doesn't require a Dex check.[/sblock]

Fimble runs to the alley.

Rounding the corner and seeing Tor already upon Dak, Gideon slows down to avoid slipping, but moves toward Dak with purpose.

OOC: Double move to the alley, then move as quickly as he can without worrying about slipping down the alley towards Dak. If Dak takes off again, then Gideon will full run after him.

End of round 3

Gideon rushes into the alleyway, slowing down when he sees Tor and their quarry have stopped. Fimble is close on Gideon's heels, huffing and puffing as his little legs propel him into the alley at top speed. The gnome pulls up short and barely avoids running into the back of Gideon's legs.

Tor closes on Dak, announcing his intentions. "Your wanted for questioning! Make no sudden moves and you won't get hurt."

Metrius, brandishing his mace, adds his effort to the intimidation. "Why have you been following us? Who sent you?"

ooc: Everyone is in the alley now. The alley is narrow, a less than 10' wide. There's not much debris, but the flagstones are slick with rainwater and there are puddles here and there. Dak is approx. 40' down the alley. Tor is standing right in front of him. Metrius is about 10' behind Tor. Babette, Fimble & Gideon are together about 5' into the alley.

Start of round 4

Dak stands still, his eyes on Tor's spiked chain. He continues to protest this harrassment and proclaim his innocence. "What authority do you have to arrest me? What have I done? I haven't followed anyone, it's you who've been following me!"

Babette waits, wanting to see what her companions do before acting.
