So I'll be upfront: despite some of my participation in some really great topics here, I've yet to play DND. I plan on changing that and am eagerly excited for my first character. And now my mind is coming up with all kinds of idea.

So how bout it fellow adventurers, what are some race/class combo ideas your excited to try or play? Will you experiment with Reskinning/UA/3PP? And if so, what options will you choose ?Some ideas I plan/thought of/excited to play as are:

Warlock:
Black/Tuxedo Cat Tabaxi Hexblade. (With the Lucky feat)
Human/Half Elf Pact of The Tome Raven Queen Patron

Barbarian:
Path of The Beast Shadar-Kai( reskin the tail natural weapon as Cenobite chains)
Path of The Beast Half-Elf reskinned as a Fey so I can have an excuse to play a 3.5 Ragewalker

Paladin:
Human Oath of The Valkyrie
DriveThruRPG.com (5E Compatible.)

Fighter:
Human Battlemaster
Warforged Rune Knight

Revised Ranger:
Duhallan(reskinned Half-Elf) Beast Conclave with the Animal companion being a black Horse.

For now that's what I have. And yes, while I'm fully aware stuff relies on DM approval, this thread is meant more for fun/for realizing new ideas ya never knew you wanted to try until now.

So have at it my fellow adventurers!
Update
Fighter:
Grey Wolf Rune Knight

Warlock:
Kitsune (reskinned Half-Elf) Hexblade.

Henshin:
Human Speed Mask

Man, I just noticed I like the Warlock alot.

I've long held the desire to play a Human Arcana cleric.

The build is probably well know here but, to explain, You go Variant Human, grab the Magic Initiate feat for Druid and grab the Shillelagh cantrip. (other spells don't really matter, I personally grab Thorn Whip so you can pull people into Spirit Guardians and Fairie Fire because I like it.) Shillelagh makes your melee attacks run off your Wisdom and makes the weapon deal 1d8 damage. Next, grab Booming Blade and Green-Flame Blade. You have a nice little build that runs pretty much all on Wisdom, (you might need DEX, but only 14 or 16 if you decide to grab Medium Armor Master later) You have the spells of a Cleric, which are pretty much almost always good, some Domain spells that can help out your other caster should they decide to have a lot of fun, and the ability to Turn basically anything that matters. Later, you get to add your wisdom modifier to your cantrips (which includes Shillelagh and the SCAG cantrips) and some high level Wizard spells, which are almost always worth it.

I had a Gnome Blade Feylock in a one shot. Pumped all the points I could in DEX, took the Invocation that gives you Mage Armor for free and he had basically 16 AC all the time.

Went Feylock so I could cast Sleep since it's a strong control spell that doesn't need good CHA but you could go for a different load out. Used Mirror Image to stay in melee longer (I had to TANK when the Paladin took one too many crit and went down in ONE TURN and the friggin' ORC BARBARIAN decided to be a wuss and throw javelins instead! Augh). Shadow Blade was a good option too! I think my other spells were utility? It was an investigation game so I went with the Invocation that lets you cast Detect Magic at will as a second choice.

MIGHT work better with a proper DEX race with good CON though.

Oh! And he was a former pirate too! :D

I also wanted to buy a Dwarf Mastermind Rogue but I haven't had the opportunity. I would take the feat to grab Commander's Strike off of the Battlemaster!

There's also this character I've tried to build in the past and kind failed but I think if I had the chance I know what I would do: Human Rogue with the Charlatan background and Magic Initiate: Cleric as bonus feat. Charlatan identity is some sort of traveling priest, go Arcane Trickster for more magical effect, grab Thaumaturgy and Guidance as Cantrip (or maybe Light or Mend) and a single use of Cure Wounds (or Bless) as your level 1 spell. Grab Expertise in Deception and lie as much as possible :p

I'd like a chance to run a Tabaxi Gloomstalker in an urban campaign using the UA Ranger upgrades.

Or I could just write the plot of Cats into a module and everyone can play a Tabaxi. Big Tabaxi, little Tabaxi, Tabaxi that climb on rocks, the whole schmozzle. Not the stuff of nightmares at all.

But there's no plot in Cats :p
