I'm surprised Halflings made it this far. I like them, but I know a lot of people don't.

I voted Eladrin because while the teleport is nice it's not enough for me to find the race interesting.

I voted elves, because whenever someone says get rid of something

like off a sinking boat

or an overloaded airplane

Or when the Donnar party is starting

An elf is the obvious choice.

I voted elves, simply because the Eladrin took their place. Everybody is mentioning Tolkien. The D&D Eladrin are much more what Tolkien had in mind for them than those wood working half-gnomes. Is Galadriel an Eladrin or an Elf? Can there be any doubts?

I like halflings because my first group had a halfling archer ranger in it. She was new to the game, but immediately latched on and had the greatest time with it.

There was a scene where the group was searching for goblins in the woods. The halfling said, "We'll find them and then eat them alive!" We were kind of used to her saying weird things, though they were not always so evil. Then I said that the goblins had put up warning signs on the trees. "I laugh in the face of warning!" There are also woodland animals staked to trees as warnings. "Are there bunnies?" Yes, there are bunnies. "I cry."

She had the greatest way of narrating her actions, such as this example, so I've really come to love the jolly halflings. Long live the little folk!
