Hi,

I am still waiting for amazon.co.uk to ship my copy of Races of Faerûn in the UK...

So it would be nice if some of those lucky persons who already own their copy of RoF could tell me at which level a drow is allowed to take the "drow high born" feat (or whatever it is called).

Thanks!

The bone armor in A&EG is probably just a reprint of the bone armor in OA.

I noticed Bark Armor was already in Moon Elves for d20 and described better

. I seem to remember it somewhere waay back too.

Hmm...one would think first level. Maybe ONLY at first level.

Great idea for a feat.

Yes, I also really like the idea of the feat because it allows the noble drow to regain some of their abilities the lost due to the switch from 2nd to 3rd edition.

Allowing this feat to be taken only at 1st level makes, of course, sense as it is already clear at 1st level if you are noble born or not...

On the other hand, abilities like levitate weren't gained in 2nd edition before fourth level. So this may imply that the feat cannot be taken at low levels.

Just got my copy of Races of Faerun, and ready to answer questions!

Nathan - you can take the highborn drow feat as soon as your base Will save is +2 (and if you're a drow, of course).

The Halfling Warslinger, or rather the more properly Titled Warsling Sniper, gives you some sneak attack stuff, some abilities to hit around cover, better crits, and better ability to ricochet the halfling skiprocks.

I saw both of these at the store today and I have to say I ws disappointed with the Arms & Equipment Guide. It's thin, for one, and hardcover, so that makes it seem like it's just hardcover to jack up the price. It's a hardcover "splatbook" basically. Flipping through it, I was again let down a lil. The all black and white doesn't bother me. What bugs me is the lack of illustrations for everything. I want every damn item illustrated in an equipment book. Some of the vehicles just had sillouettes showing their "turn" locus and pilot position. I actual pictures of what everything looks like. I kept thinking "Why didn't they just cram this stuff into the 3.5E books?" On the plus side, I do like some of the new equipment in there, and I think all of the weapons had pictures. It was nice to have the items from the class books in there, 'cause I am not too keen on the classbooks and in fact plan on selling the three I have (cheap! but like anyone would buy them), but some of the weapons from them I did like. I really liked the airwhale thing a lot, and could see putting it in my game world easily, But no way in Hell am I gonna buy a book for just one thing. And it's waay too taboo to ask for it's stats from anyone. This makes me wish there was a way to buy just like one page of material from a rule book. I'm really trying to become more conservative with my roleplaying purchasings, so I'm trying to buy only the stuff I think I will use in a game. Unfortunately, the A&EG doesn't have more info than not that I would use. Close, maybe, but it's WAY overpriced, hardcover or no.

Races of Faerun I just don't have a use for right now. I feel I have most of that info in the FRCS and Monsters of Faerun combined. Plus, I don't even play in the Realms, I just use some of the material from it.

I bought both today. I am such a DnD book who.... yeah...

My initial impressions:

Races of: I am going to LOVE this book. I just glanced at it, read the feats mostly. I am running a FR campaign, and this has given me so many ideas. Especially since my group is 100% Human, except a elven NPC and a half-celestial, it'll be fun to have the info this book provides. And if I ever run a homebrew game, I'll be sure to include many of the races from this book.

Arms: By no means is this my favorite WotC product. But I will find use for it. Since I don't have the Dragon magizines, the magic items will be nice, now to decide what fun things to give out.

So far the $60 I don't have that I spent tonight was worth it. But IMO, Races of is a must have where as Arms isn't. But I think thats a common viewpoint.
