Races of Faerun (praise) and Aasimar?

Let me jsut say...

WOW! i went today to the city, to buy a novel at my happy little Mind Games *where i buy all my Dungeons and Dragons/Wizard of the Coast/D20 accessories, when WHAM!

I saw it...the prize and wonder...the RACES OF FAERUN BOOK!

at first i was a little aprhensive...after all, it was $63 (Australian)...

my second thought however was, how will i get the money by thursday?

This book has everything you could want. ALL the subtypes of Dwarves, Elfs, Gnomes, Halfings, Orcs (even including the mystical Orog). Then they have a detailed section on the Outsiders, Aasimar, Fey'ri (Demons/Devils mixed with Sun Elves...very nasty ^_^), Tubruuk (an interesting race) all the gensai, teifling, and i think even another one race.

Also is a very detailed look on all the nationalities, Rashemi, Chondathan, Mulhorandi, Tethyrian and more. Very Exciting.

Also the very cool Wemic is detailed (5d8 hit dice, and more!!! for only a LA +3!!! but an ECL 13+character level *blush*)

I was most intruiged however by some very interesting feats that were created, some actually for specific Races.
I won't go Into detail, but i'll give a rough outline of just a few that caught my eye.

Deeper Darkness
Prereq - Teifling, Fey'ri, ability to cast darkness naturally
You now cast Deeper Darkness instead of darkness, and i think *though can't remember, didn't get a good look* that you even get the ability to see in any type of darkness like the Devils ability (once again, don't take my exact word on it, check it out for yourselves)

Celestial Heritage
Prereq - Aasimar
Something about you casting Daylight instead of Light, and the ability to cure moderate light wounds either once, or thrice a day, not too sure...

However...after reading all these things, i became Very interested in exchanging my Human Cleric of Tymora, for possibly a Aasimar Cleric of Tymora...it's still an LA +1, though my group usually doesn't bother with it (it simply means it take longer to get to level 20). Could anyone recommend any of the feats from any of the books (including Races of Faerun if you have it, or have seen it) and possibly some sort of feat progression for a Melee Cleric with Aasimar blood

Well, thanks for taking your time to read it :p Thank you in advance

you've Obviously missed me saying

"...possibly a Aasimar Cleric of Tymora...it's still an LA +1..."

At that however, would it be more productive to play a Aasimar Paladin rather than a Cleric? Opinons?

Playing an assimar paladin is very effective. Imc Aggamam (from the board) is playing a assimar paladin of Tyr. The Pc?s are currently CL 9 and even with his ECL+1 the paladin is one off the most powerful of them.
He started out as a fighter, with 4 levels of fighter he has plenty of feats and access to weapon Specialization. Then he took 3 levels of paladin, and now he is advancing in Divine champion.
With good str, wis and cha he has very good saves and attack bonus. He uses the Divine might feat from Defender of the faith in almost every encounter. Because of extra turning and very high cha mod he has lots of turning attempts to spare.

Yeahyeah, free action Divine Might? ;)

No. standart action. But with boots of speed that's no problem.

Divine Feats
Since turning or rebuking is a standard action, activating
any of these feats is also a standard action.
Third, you can't use the Quicken Turning feat to
speed up the use of a divine feat.

It's pretty black and white, isn't it?

You have to wonder which book the FAQ people were reading.
