Races of Faerun... ummm.. yawn?

I've purchased most of the FR 3e stuff so far, but I'll be passing on this. Since I'll never run a FR game, I really can't think of a use for it.

Uh, why exactly do you think this one will be boring? This looks like the most interesting FR book to me since the original campaign setting.

But then again, I kinda like new races more than I like a lot of other things...

>What's that, Flipper? You want a fishy?? Flipper want a fis....AHH >SWEET MOTHER OF GOD IT JUMPED OUT OF THE WATER AND IS >BITING MY FACE OFF!!!!

ROTFLMAO!

I'll probably flip through it, but I doubt I'll get it. I never have and never will run a FR campaign, so a lot of it will just be fluff for me. Besides... with the exception of the Avariel, I don't need anymore sub-races. Enough already! :D

I've already got Monsters of Faerun and most of the stuff listed in RoF, such as the lycanthropes, is either in Monsters of faerun, the main campaign setting or some other book already.

I think I'll pass.

Prestige races? Kind of like some weird evolution trick? How would/does that work?

thanks,

That is precisely what they are! Very cool stuff - pick up Oathbound and scope it out!!! :)

What about other types of Planetouched, like the Paramental Genasi in a recent Dragon? How about expanding Aasimars and Tieflings with Aasimon-kin, Eladrin-kin, Guardinal-kin, Rilmani-kin, Tanar'ri-kin, Baatezu-kin, Gereleth-kin, Yugoloth-kin even Slaadi-kin?

We're working on 'em! ;)

Rules question: If my character slays all the gods from Faiths and Pantheons, do I win Forgotten Realms?

No. If you do that, Lord Ao comes around and slaps you silly for "upsetting the balance".

And if you manake to kill Lord Ao, then his superior will do it.

Face it: You just can't win against these odds. Better stick to Las Vegas, where you have at least some chance of winning...

I mean, they put in goblins, like 2 kinds of orcs, but not One kobold.
and no GNOLLS!! don't they have gnolls in FR?

since 3e came out, gnolls have become my favorite humanoid race. (it was probably the PHB mentioning evil gnoll druids and rangers that did the trick for me.)
