Racial Fighter Archetypes

For those of you that want to play a fighter that the other races can't! ;)

My first thought on this: That gnome one, while an interesting idea, is full of such situational benefits that would come up so very rarely in my game that I could wrap it all into a single feat and I'd still expect no one would ever take it.

Oh wow. That came out a lot harsher than I meant it to. Sorry for that. I let myself get carried away with hyperbole. The Wisdom save proficiency comes far too late to matter. The immunity to those spells is something my players would indeed like, but beyond that it needs beefing up with some cool things for the gnoke to do instead of just being defenses against things the DM might do.

Interesting stuff! Cool ideas. Good work. I have tried and failed to make a cool Gnomish grenadier (something something tinker gnomes) a few times in the past.

Oh, and and the gnome needs advantage on saves against domination and charm and the like (I thought you had them immune to it)

I beefed up the Dwarven Shield a bit and made some grammatical changes to be more clear.

Most other classes (monk, ranger, rogue) get their new saving throws at level 15, so i don't think the wisdom save comes too late. Don't forget that gnomes already have advantage at Int, Wis and Cha. The gnome Mindwall can be a pretty terrifying opponent for a caster not focused on energy attacks and brings a lot of diversity to the meatshield club of fighters. I could give it many other abilities but decided against them because almost all these racial abilities are just exaggerations of their racial traits. I didn't want to go much further than that.

It's been more than a month since I've been able to play my gnome battlemaster. I forgot about the advantage on saves. Doh!

As for that quote, that's only going to be a very small set of encounters and it's only in these situations that the subclass gains any benefits that will be significantly helpful. I just don't see the features as worth spending my subclass on.

The Assimar Warhelm could use another pass. Gaining light cantrip far too weak and situational. Making a weapon count as magical at 7th is weak and as the class progresses gets even more so. The extra racial ability use is good but the third usage is boring and taking up space of something that could of been far more interesting.

You can't be more right. I was too hasty with that one. Please take a look at my more careful rewrite. Thank you for your comment.
