I'd advise you to avoid dodge, unless you plan on getting spring attack (probably not a good idea, though, to give up heavy armor). It's really not much of a feat, and with some coin later on, you can buy better than it for much less than the value of a feat.
My advice would be to take power attack, and try to take 'em down before they get a chance to do you too much trouble. Just stand up like a man and take your licks. Armor class becomes less and less important as you level. If you're looking for a good feat investment for defense, boost up your will saves. *g* There's nothing like being a big bad tough fighter running into the night in a magically produced panic while the puny wizard stands firm, snickering at you.
