1. Are alle Rakshasa evil or are some good or at least neutral?

2. Whom do Rakshasa worship, were can I find information about their Pantheon?
Is there are group of Rakshasa following another way than the rest of their community (similar to the Drow who worship Ellistrae)?

2. I have read that Rakshasa prefer spellcasting over melee but that some of them are warriors Rukhs.
What is the female form of Rukh?
How does a Rakshasa become a Rukh?

3. How does a Rakshasa succed to attain the status of a (Maha-)Raja?
I've seen a few examples of LN rakshasa in actual books. But any other alignment is almost nonexistant, and would be renegades/outcastes. While not quite as tied to their alignment or a specific plane as exemplar races like archons or yugoloths, rakshasa are still demonic outerplanar creatures.

Given that they were originaly based on indian mythology, and still draw from it somewhat, castes are probably heriditary, and the only advancment in them is through reincarnation. Of course, being powerfull magical creatures, ritual death and reincarnation while retaining memories as a method of advancement is not impossible. Suffice to say that changing caste is an exeption, not the norm, unlike fiends, which usually start as manes/lemures and get promoted through the ranks.

Get "The Complete Guide to Rakshasas" from Goodman Games. It's my favorite monster supplement.

As for your questions:

1) MM says always Lawful Evil
2) Complete Guide says they worship Ravana, the first Rakshasa and once ruler of all mortal races (p. 33)
Other 2) Complete guide has several sub-types, including more figher oriented types. Also, there's no reason a Rakshasa couldn't take levels in a class other than sorcerer. I built a bard Rakshasa -- fits their sneakiness to be unpredictable.
3) A maharaja is a king. Rakshasa can become kings by living forever, being sneaky, and having magical abilities. They are more likely to be a sneaky advisor though, who serves his own purposes instead of the king's.

4. search function:
I could not find any possibility to search your boards.
If there is one, where?

Rukh, Rajah and Maharajah were just ranks in the 2e MM. Loosely translated, a rukh was a "knight" or a "noble lord", a rajah was a "king" and a maharajah was an "emperor". I suppose they reach those ranks the same way other fiends reach the rank of demon lord, by age and power (i.e. HD and influence).

Also, on the search thing, if you have a very specific question, you can start a thread and ask in the Meta Forum and someone will usually search for you and return what results they could find that they think will be useful.
