I have a much simpler idea: Use Magic Jar. Your only problem then will be to avoid anti-magic zones and to extend the spell multiple times.
And to keep your real body close enough. Yet, wizards may have excuses to store dead Rakshasa corpses (disguised as statues/puppets) in their offices.
