Wielding my spear with two hands, I approach slowly and silently trying to see before being seen...

It is dark within the cave. As you enter, the floor gives way beneath you, and you tumble, along with a shower of rocks and earth, down into the depths. You hit a steep slope and keep going, until - finally - the ordeal is over and you lie, bruised and bleeding, somewhere below.

The ground below feels damp and somewhat squishy; perhaps mud, perhaps something else.

By good fortune your spear is still in your hands, and, suddenly, you realise that something is near.

What do you do?

Cheers!

Two parallel grooves in the dirt make their way into the cave. You cannot find any footprints you may have made getting here. The hillside quivers and dies. You gain 1 XP.

What do you do?

Cheers!

Hm, does it seem like the grooves have been made or used recently?

What am I wearing? What time of day is it? What kind of weather?

I stay still, but ready to defend myself if needed. I keep my breath. I blink my eyes, thinking that I may be able to see more clearly in some moments. I wont attack unless attacked, but if something attacks me I will either throw the spear, and draw the dagger if it is still in my belt, or use the spear and my fists. I will try not to move too much though, I don't want to cause an other fall.

The grooves seem quite deep; the earth turned is relatively fresh. You can't make much out within the cave, as the sun, almost directly overhead, makes it quite dark within. You have removed your cloak and are holding it by your side, for it was cooler earlier, but you are prepared for colder temperatures if you should experience such.

The displaced earth alerts you to the fact that something was pushed into the cave rather than out.

What do you do?

Cheers!

A light comes into view, held lower than you would expect. It is followed by the arm and the body of an old dwarf, hair matted with grease. He jumps back as you come into view and curses as he sees your spear.

He peers suspiciously at your face, and then relaxes... somewhat. "Is it you, Wanderer?" he mutters, and you can only just hear him. "Come to torment me again? But no... he has both eyes."

He raises his voice. "You've fallen far, traveller. What brings you to my realm?"

What do you do?

Cheers!

"Wanderer you say; a name I've heard before-in yet untold stories. The Spirits gave me dreams, the dreams gave me visions, and the visions give reality. Though I seek the truth after reality, the only way to wake up is to continue dreaming. And thats why I am here." I reply in a soft tone.

"What guided YOU down here, is what I wonder and yet not know, dear Walker of the Deep."

Is he armed? Does he look well fed? He has anything on him I recognize? What else is around me?

It *is* dark in there. A pair of glowing, orange eyes seem to be peering back at you from about 10 feet into the cave.

What do you do?

Cheers!
I light a torch and throw it into the darkness. Then I unsheathe my sword, which smells of baked bread anytime danger is near.

"I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. And Hudson, what the hell are you doing with a spear?"
