random tables

BaldHero

First Post
i am putting together a DM screen for a friend of mine. On the front will be a campaign map that i have photoshopped based on his homebrew campaign maps. On the other side i want to add a crap load of tables and charts. Although my friend takes his game seriously, i want to put on some charts that will be funny. Maybe 1d10 table of excuses for his significant other, etc.
Anyone have any good suggestions?

How about a Wandering Damage table?

Roll 2d6:
2.......5d6
3.......1d20+3
4-5....4d4-4
6-8....3d6 discard lowest roll
9-10...2d6 x victim's level
11......1d4-2 random ability damage
12......d% non-lethal

Random polearm table:
1. Glaive
2. Guisarme
3. Glaive-Guisarme
4. Bec de corbin
5. Halberd
- etc., etc....there were a buttload of them in the 1E PHB; I think Gary really liked polearms.

I think a table similar to an old BASIC program might be fun... one that goes into a continuous loop.

For example:
10 PRINT "Hello!"
20 GOTO 10

Now see this in a chart form:
1 Roll again and add 3 to the result
2 ...
3 ...
4 ...
5 Roll percentile and divide by 10
6 ...
7 ...
8 ...
9 ...
10 Roll twice, take difference, check chart

Basically, every result get you to consult the chart again, but never really gives you an answer. I don't have the Mathematical Acrobatics (Int) skill, but I'm sure someone could give it a go...

It could be amusing to list DCs for skill checks that are far too easy. You could even slip them into skill tables as examples.

i.e. Search DC to find Player X's navel, Listen DC to hear one's own breathing, stuff like that

the wanderig damage table will be on there for sure. Probably the DC checks for ridiculous skills too. These are good ideas, i appreciate them. Keep em coming. I have four more panels to fill.
