Ranger Action Flow Chart

But wait! What if you didn't take the Twin Strike power as one of your At-Will powers? There needs to be a version of this for those rangers' players.

Oh, never mind--there aren't any.

(My lovely wife is playing a bow ranger in our family campaign. This seems pretty accurate to me ... I'm not entirely sure what attack powers she has besides Disruptive Strike and Twin Strike, honestly.)
Believe it or not, there are actually people who've made rangers without it. I actually made a bow ranger that doesn't use Twin Strike - and get this - he works just fine. He's using the Hunter class feature and is built around Fading Strike and Careful Shot (kind of a woodland sniper theme). I believe he also has Hunter's Teamwork (to take advantage of the per-encounter Sneak Attack he gets from MC Rogue).

He still does good damage, and rarely misses. I believe he did take Disruptive Strike though. Seemed quite useful.

One of my players in my group kindly threw this together to illustrate to the other players in my game how his ranger plays out

I recently DMed a short 2 session Adventure and one of the guys rolled up a Hunter with Crossbow (loading as a FREE action) and with his to hit he was doing something like a hit on a 4 or higher typically at Level 3 versus level appropriate enemies.

He was crazy optimized and VERY hard to Ki.. I mean Challenge.

Rangers are one of those classes that work VERY well as long as the DM doesn't have Teleporting Monkeys that swarm around them getting Combat Advantage every time they fire their bow! muhahahahhaaa

Its all good...
