Ranger combat style, 2-weapon: usable with staff?

Are the combat feats available through the ranger class' two-weapon "combat style" usable with quarterstaff, or only two separate weapons in each hand?

IIRC it works with all double weapons.

I'm not sure whether it would work with a Ranger using a weapon and spiked shield.

It seems to me that choosing a combat style only decides what 'bonus feats' you get. In my opinion, any combinations of weapons that you can use the TWF feat tree on you can use with that particular combat style.

I was about to say. They had some silly exception in 3.0, like using a quarterstaff somehow made LESS sense, but rectified that in 3.5.

Still, combat styles are too confined for me, and I recommend using Wildscape.
