So I give them all at least 3 of 4 possible stars, except for The Phantom Menace. Jedi was an amazing movie. The Ewoks defeated the Empire because the Force was with them and the rebellion, IMO of course. The whole part with Luke, Darth Sideous, & Darth Vader on the Death Star was just classic. The saber fight was amazing and the final death of Sideous and the redemption of Vader was just classic.

I'll say that other than The Phantom Menace...EVERY Star Wars movie was better the Lord of the Rings movies. Other than the first they don't hold up under repeated viewings. Return winning Best Picture was a joke!

1. Star Wars (close Tie with TESB, but I got to go with the one that started it all).
2. The Empire Strikes Back
3. Return of the Jedi (not great, but much better than any of the second trilogy. If RotJ had been released in the 90s, it would be regarded as one of the sci-fi films of that decade (which says more about that decade than the film).
4. Revenge of the Sith (easily best of the first three, which is not saying much)
5/6. I can't be bothered to rate the other two. They're both pretty bad.

Despite the naysayers, here's my ranking. Based on only one viewing of RotS, naturally. It may move up or down after subsequent re-viewings.

1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. Return of the Jedi
3. Revenge of the Sith
4. Star Wars
5. Attack of the Clones
6. The Phantom Menace

Although if the list function on vBulletin allowed me, I'd probably tie Jedi and Sith at this point, and might also tie Clones and Menace at the bottom.

Ditto. Except I'd probably tie AotC with ANH rather than TPM.

In a star wars context I think you're spot on,

in the context of overall quality/acting/production I don't think PM or AotC would be as high (probably 5's ...)
