Acording to one of Robert A HeinLein's characters (from Friday) The way one can tell if a society is truly sick is that being when normal conventions of politeness and manners have deteriorated into rudeness--which the people now take as a sign of strength.

I don't know if I completely agree with that, but it does seem worth considering.

What the hell is Harmon talking about this time (in the third person no doubt). Well a couple of examples-

- In Tar Get the other day, the wife is trying to return a baby monitor that does not work and we have no recite for- “ma’am you have returned $90 of no recite merchandise to us in the last month, you will have to wait a year to return this.”

You need to keep your receipts. Sounds like Target was already being darned nice to you. I've been in retail and in loss prevention for twenty years, and what you try to make out as an innocent little return on your part has all the hallmarks of a shady return.

Maybe it's your appearance? People judge quickly based on appearance. Growing a beard, for example, has made people react differently to me in a quite noticeable fashion.

Or maybe you're just a magnet. I'm a magnet for good karma, but I also create a "karma nullification field" around myself that causes those close to me to have terrible karma. Someday I'm going to get into a 15-car pileup and be the only survivor, remarkably without any injury but a bruise or two (thinks this odd really do happen, just not usually on that kind of scale).

Mods- kill the thread.

This is just venturing into an attack on me for the things I did wrong in the threads examples, not into the area which I was hoping to venture.

Thank you all for your kind and open thoughts, I hope you all understand that no matter what you do you will always be seen for the one unkind act you do not for the hundreds of kindnesses you do. :(

Peace, and take care.
