Rapid Shot and two-weapon fighting

First Post
I'm sure this has been asked before, so if someone just wants to point me toward a thread or a FAQ- that'd be cool.

Question: Can two weapon fighting be used with ranged weapons, in this case revolvers and/or handcrossbows, assuming such weapons could make more than one attack per round without needing reloading (like say a repeating crossbow).

If so, could two weapon fighting and rapid shot be used together?

If not, can only one or the other be used with regards to ranged weapons?

I'm creating an NPC, using base D&D rules, who wields dual revolvers (think Roland: Dark Tower series)- so I don't care if things are exactly right as its an NPC, and what I desire the character to be will take precedent, but I do want a rough idea of how these things interact together.

Thx all.

Yes. The rules even discuss using thrown weapons.

Yes.

You can also combine TWF with melee weapons with rapid shot. Consider, for example, attacking with a longsword and dagger and then throwing the dagger.
