Endur, that's a good point, but handing the item to the squire will probably be a move action. (If you just drop it on the ground, that's free, but then the squire must take a move action to retrieve it.) Then it's another move action when he hands it back.
In order to fire a normal heavy crossbow once per round, without readying or delaying (which would reduce your initiative number), I think you need three squires and three crossbows. One is always being reloaded, the second has just been fired and dropped, and the third is being handed to you.
If you have a light or hand crossbow, or a magic one of any type, it's faster just to reload by yourself.
