Just wondering about this- any theories as to why this episode was titled "The Long Game?" It didn't have anything to do with any game that I can think of, and maybe its too late right now, but I can't even really think of any metaphorical games this ep could be referring to...?

The only thing I can assume is that the alien thingy was playing a sort of game with the whole human race, since they never really explained why it wanted to be in control of everything humans did.

I agree about the pacing being a bit off - I would have liked to see that episode as a two-parter, so they could develop a bit more of Adam's personality and build more tension about what was happening on Space Station 5.

I found it very interesting that the Doctor was so concerned about messing with history. It was also interesting to see him actually kick someone off the TARDIS. I was relieved, though. I always think the show works better when he only has one companion, and having two companions with a possible romantic link would have been really annoying.

I gave it a 6 - not as good as 'Dalek', but a bit better than average.

I think that it was because the creature had controled humans for 90 years and could keep controling them for several thousand years.
