Personally I did like this, except I thought the sequence of Rose hanging off the Barrage Balloon was overextended. Definitely a good one for creepyness though.

It was great. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this episode. I particularly liked the scene
where Rose was suspended in the tractor beam switching her cellphone off!
Nice scripting and plenty of nice acting, too. And the spooky kid was great!
As good as the Dalek episode, I think.

Genuinely creepy.

When the hell are they playing this in the States? Hell, just let me buy the DVD!

Ditto! I'd sign up for digital cable if they'd show it on BBC America.

Man, that was a creepy episode!! When the gas mask appeared on the doctor's face - wow! I like it that they aren't afraid to do more "adult" things, such as the creepy dead child.

Definitely creepy- I enjoyed it, and loved the return of the cliffhanger episodes, but I thought the pacing at the beginning was a bit disjointed. It took the episode a while to really hit its stride. Some other bits kind of bugged me, such as the awkward re-introduction of the psychic paper. I suppose they felt it was necessary for new viewers, yet only a couple of episodes ago ("The Long Game"), they used the psychic paper and didn't feel any need to explain it away.

I'm giving it a 7, because of the pacing issues, but I suspect the full two-parter will rate higher on the meter.

How did you see it? Lucky you! I'm in Michigan but we don't have CBC on our basic cable. :(

I don't know about Cthulhudrew, but the Internet is my friend. :]

I cannot tell a lie- so I'll just play dumb. What? What was the question?

BTW, the complete season one boxed set of the new Doctor Who is supposed to be released Nov 1, 2005. I don't know if that's only in the UK or not, but depending on where it's released, you might be able to pick the whole thing up in a few months.

Actually we *do* have CBC on our cable I watched one of the episodes last night. I should learn to read Comcasts line up better :)
