The year is slowly coming to an end and it is time to look back and reflect a little. Got to say this year’s movie releases from the movies I saw was about a 7 out 10, not bad but not the best year compared to prior years. Oh, 2001 was a 10 year for me: Harry Potter, LotR: Fellowship, Shrek, Hannibal, Moulin Rouge! American Pie 2, The Mummy Returns, Ocean’s Eleven, Lara Croft: TR, Legally Blonde, Spy Kids, Black Hawk Down, and Blow, just to name a few.

So, how do you rate the movies you saw this year and how do you rate the year to prior years.

1. Serenity
2. Mr. & Mrs. Smith – Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire - Wedding Crashers (yes, it is just as good but apples and oranges)
3. Batman Begins – King Kong – Narina
4. Star Wars: RotS
5. Sin City - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - The Brothers Grimm
6. The Hitchhiker’s Guide
7. The Pacifier
8. Fantastic Four - Sahara
9. Constantine
10. Kingdom of Heaven

For about the first 5 months of this year there was nothing in the theaters that I would have paid money to see. We finally got something decent in Revenge of the Sith then had to wiat another month for Batman Begins. Brutal year overall with a few gems scattered amoung the refuse.

I used to watch a lot more movies per year than I have in the last few years. I'm not sure if it's because I generally have less free time now or because of the amount of movies I'm interested in watching... or both.

The only films I've seen in the theater this year were Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Batman Begins, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Serenity, The Legend of Zorro and King Kong.

The last 10 Year for me (when balancing quality and quantity) was 1989: Batman, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Lethal Weapon 2, License to Kill, Back to the Future II, Ghostbusters II, The Little Mermaid, Born on the Fourth of July, The Abyss, etc. Though part of that may also be because that was the year I graduated high school and is still far and away the best year of my life (for many reasons, not just because of my senior year or movies).

Damn, I'm old! :(

These were all great films, and I'd add Corpse Bride and Land of the Dead :)

Its tough for me to rank the films I've seen, but its definitely been a good year for me.

There's very few movies this year I didn't like. And having a Star Wars movie is great for a guy like me. Serenity, Narnia, Kong, and Batman Begins just made it even better...and that's not even all I saw, really. Just the highlights off the top of my head.

Great year for movies.
