Just posted my go at a character in the Player Characters threat. Please let me know what you think!
I went with normal Forgotten Realms deities.

Basically just a "kill evil at all costs" fanatical paladin, going to go Oath of Vengeance when the time comes.

Also went pole arm, because I have never went pole arm in my history of gaming.

Also, Wrex --

I just can't help myself. CB introduced you as a colleague, so maybe you're a lawyer. With that in mind, when I first saw your handle, I thought

Wrex =
William Rex =
Bill King =
"bilking"

And so I made a lawyer joke to myself. (It's all right; I'm allowed to.... some of my best friends are lawyers.).
ha ha ha I kill me.

Well played.

And yes, I'm a lawyer!

Changing one thing, taking a Heavy Crossbow instead of the Longsword, realized I had zero ranged potential.

One question, how do you determine how much ammunition you have?

I think the artwork for Brother Rufus is dynamic, good choice. The chain mail incurs disadvantage on Stealth checks. I know when I DM it's helpful to me when players annotate their sheet with stuff like that; not sure if IG's of the same mind (he'll weigh in for himself). It's nice to see someone with proficiency in Medicine; a lot of players overlook the value of that skill. Related to that, we'll want to see if we can fix up Rufus with a Healer's Kit, probably. Maybe he'll luck out and find one as treasure? The halberd is a two-handed weapon, which will make it tricky for Rufus to wield and cast spells with somatic components. I'm betting you've already considered that limitation and decided to forge ahead with the polearm. My thinking on that topic tends to run to, "Yeah, no big. I'll just drop my weapon when I want to cast."

Finally, the background is short, sweet, and to the point. Kudos. It sorta cries out to me for an organization with which Rufus is affiliated? Maybe we should stat one up? I can see a DM getting mileage out that.

Yes, noting penalties and bonuses to skill checks is handy, to say the least. Otherwise I won't think about them, and then bad things happen. Bad, bad things... ;)

I like the background. A lot. Reminds me of some sort of religious bounty hunter... Someone who would definitely have the heretic Farshid in his sights.
