Ravenloft or HeroQuest for my kids?

I know some 40-year-old veteran gamers that can't keep on top of all Bescent's fiddly bits. Not recommended for a young child's attention span.

I'd go with Heroquest over Ravenloft simply because the HQ minis are painted. Oh, and if she can't read yet then all of those cards in Ravenloft will be kind of a hassle

I played heroquest one afternoon as a 7th grader while over at a friends house. I remember very little about it other than having lots of fun. Given it's popularity and collector's value, i'd go with hero's quest. I have ravenloft, and while quite fun, you'd have to sit down several sessions with younger kids for them to get the rules.

I have seen on a popular bidding website a 2nd hand heroquest for approx 45 US. Now that is a reasonable deal, as long as I can ascertain it is in good condition. But it says 'missing the throne'
