I don't see anywhere if there's early release for Friendly Local Game Stores or not for this title? I hope there is, that is such a cool thing that WoTC does.
Sans the announcement of a change, I wouldn't assume the standard release model of the last however many years is changing. They didn't specify the two week early release because no specific release date was given, just the general month.

Good point!! Thank you!!

It would be interesting if we got an expanded Barovia with some of the old settlements added back in, but I don't know how much they want to complicate portrayals since Curse of Strahd is still one of their most popular adventures. But the southern region of Barovia had some interesting story hooks, though they're trickier to pull off without set domains with specific neighbors.

Given that the Dark Powers actually set Kas free to wrangle Vecna, it would be interesting to see their domains appear again in the book. Maybe they could finally pay off what had to have been an romance backstory that the art certainly hinted at. But that would mean contradicting "he got thrown back into Greyhawk" as the ending of Eve of Ruin.

I confess I feel curiosity about the original Barovia in the material plane. This could be a great spin-off because this could enough space for supernatural factions like vampire clans, theriantropes tribes, spellcaster guilds, fae noble houses.. Of course it would be a lot of worldbuilding.

Other idea is a maid of pure heart who becomes the ultimate vampire-hunter, almost overpowered, but the plot-twist is she is the reincarnation of the angel Avacyn(Innistrad), or she isn't but the "heir of Avacyn's soulspark". Then her "hero travel" is not about to become more powerful but spiritually growing and learning to find the balance between mercy and justice.

* OMG! If my theory about the future Magic: the Gathering event "Reality Fracture" is true, then there may be some special surprise with Innistrad. We shouldn't rule out the possibility that they will later release something linked to Magic.

* The tsochart (3.5 Lords of Madness: Book of Aberrations) could be perfect for this 5.5e Ravenloft.

* Digital content released in D&DBeyond hasn't to appear in the Roadmap. And Ravenloft has got its own rivals with 3PP horror settings in DDB (Grimm Hollow and Crooked Moon).

If you read it and you are familiar with the setting you will know what was wrong with it.
TO YOU.

You have not articulated any proof that the apocalypse subclasses were given negative reviews other than the whining of people on the Internet. WotC has not said any part of the UA was negatively down voted and certainly not enough to pause production on the product. And as well all know, fan whining about something in a UA =/= massive red voting in UA =/= WotC scrapping it. If it did, WotC wouldn't have released a new PC option in the last eight years.

So unless you have statistically proof or a quotation from WotC that the apocalypse UA was poorly received and is being redesigned, you cannot say it was poorly received enough to warrant major retooling. You may not like it, but that isn't the guaranteed consensus.
