OK, I just went over to my FLGs and picked up the book. Now I am getting excited about playing. As soon as I read through it, I'll work on getting a sheet together. I'd like to know a bit about the setting we'll be in though prior to coming up with a character.

Also, if you do decide you want to use my site, let me know and I can set up the section on my boards for you. It only takes a second to start a new forum. Usually, my games consist of multiple forums, an in-game forum, a hidden character management forum for each player & GM and other pertinent forums, like OOC fourms. Even if we don't use my boards, I might set up a character management thread for my character there where we can discuss creation and stuff...that is if you don't mind.

Got your character. Like the concept, replied more fully via a Private Message on Goand.Net. I'm happy for people to change their character concepts if they get more books.

On the topic of books, I only own the Core Rulebook, and (as soon as it arrives in the UK) the Magic Box supplement. I'm reasonably familiar with the material in the Slayer's Handbook, but I'd want a full description of any Qualities or Drawbacks used from there.

Fair enough. It's still a work in progress, but I've got some very bare bones notes:

Ravenshead

Population: 282,908 (and falling...)

Ravenshead, Massachusetts. It's a largish town (almost a city) a two hour drive south of Boston. It's on the coast, has it's own University, a large collection of churches, and a few undisclosed sites of interest...

Not much, I know, but if you've got any questions, please ask. After all, the worst I can do is say "Not telling!" :p.

Hmm, sounds useful. I especially like the sound of the hidden character management forums. How do they work? Does your board do Private Messaging? Would I get Moderator status for the game boards? Maybe some of these are dumb questions, but I've only ever used, and never run a message board of any kind.

We've got one more player joining us: efindel from Goand.Net I'll direct him over to this thread. So, that brings us up to five PCs (six if Jemal want to play). For now, I really have stopped recruiting more players, but PC slots may open up later on (Guest Stars making it to the opening credits, for example ;))

My board in form and function is very similar to this one..well, at least the program that runs this one. It has privat messaging. As for the character management forums, I basically just set tehm up so that only the GM and the player can access them...an outsider wouldn't know that they exist. It kind of works out to be like a pm, but you have alot better continuity and can have multiple threads in each forum. For example, I could have one thread for character background, another for a spell list, another for my equipment sheet and others discussing whatever I want to tell the DM at a particular time. I usually set it up so both the player and DM can post threads, entries, edit, etc. I do have control to change that if you want though. The only down side is that I with my Admin privleges can see everything, so you'd have to trust me not to look at the hidden threads... I can't view PMs though.

As for moderator status, that wouldn't be any problem. You can edit, and delete users posts, split topics, etc. I can limit privleges to moderators, like polls and stuff, or keep them open to everyone. As a moderator, you cannot create forums, but I don't think that is a huge deal. In the past when running games on simialr boards, I've set up a town as a forum with different threads representing locations in town (that might work well here) Or you could set each location as a forum of its own, allowing users to start different threads for different visits.

Tell you what, if you want to see how it works, come visit my boards. I'll go set up some sample threads now. You'll notice a section called Buffy RPG. You'll be able to see a couple forums ( Idon't know what they'll be called yet, but they'll all be unde the buffy section. You won't be able to post there though (I restrict them to noon-game members) Once you register a name, I'll add you to the game list, at which time you can post there. I'll also give you moderator status over the threads... you'll also suddenly see the character management threads, which were there all along, just hidden because your name wasn't on the permissions.

Anyow, I think I am rambling, let me go set this up. I'll be around most of the day, so I'll keep an eye out for your registration.

'Lo, all

I'm Travis, aka Efindel. My initial idea is a ganger girl, by the name of Ginger. She goes by Black most of the time. Her real last name is a closely guarded secret, since she finds it embarassing.

I can go either White Hat or Hero, whichever you need more at the moment.

what level play will the game be at? I was thinking about running a goth whitehat(I'm leaning girl, but possibly a guy), though an angel-type hero would appeal to me too if we need somethign like that, of course, that makes a great NPC too... Let me keep reading and I'll see if something strikes my interest. Are we going to be high school age, older, younger? That would have influence on my decision too.

OK Jarval, I've set your status to moderator for the pertinnent forums. You also should see and be able to post to three forums under the buffy section now, of course you moderate each of them.

Everyone: yangnome has kindly set up a place for us to discuss the game over on his boards. You can find the forums here: http://www.yangnome.com/forums/index.php?c=9

yangnome: Thanks again for hosting the game. We'll shift over there ASAP.

As for characters, I'm going with White Hats and Heroes (so no Experienced Heroes). I'm going to enforce a Sorcery = White Hat rule, but other than that you're free to chose between the two character types.

Most of the cast should be around high school age, but I'm happy with having an adult character or two. It would make my life easier if any adult character has a legitimate reason to be on the school property, but it's not a must.

efindel: Go with whichever type better matches your character concept. As yet, I've only got a clear idea of KaintheSeeker's character, but I do know that both Kalanyr and Sollir will have the Sorcery Quality (and so will be White Hats).
