Re-posing Bent D&D Minis

First Post
Hello everyone,

Has anyone had any luck, or even tried, to fix bent and leaning D&D Miniatures? I have several miniatures which are badly leaning, either because they came that way, or (in the case of some Huge minis which I stored badly) because they were smushed together in a horrible way and the bases became bent. ^_^ (*cough*) And also I have lots of minis which arrived with bent swords, staffs, etc.

I heard that it's possible to put the minis in boiling (or just hot?) water and re-pose them immediately after they come out, so they'll solidify in the correct position. But this sounds highly questionable (wouldn't the paint come off, for instance?).

Does anyone know any techniques for re-posing minis? Any suggestions from experience would be highly appreciated!

Thanks,

Jason

Hot water works fine. Just have a cup of cold water too. Dip the mini in hot water and repose it. Then remove it from the hot water and dunk it into the cold water to fix it in place.

Thanks! My Fiendish Tyrannosaurus thanks you too. :)

A hair dryer also works well for loosening up the plastic. Just make sure when you dip it in the cold water that you hold it in place in the cold water (colder is better, icy cold water). For some minis you'll have to repeat the process several times for the "memory" to form.
