If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck
I've provided first and second hand quotes from WotC executives on how they view Project Sigil internally and you still want to debate semantics.

Let me know when you have anything new to add to the conversation and I'd prefer a linked source over you general feelings about things.

Apologies I haven’t see any experience of VTT and I believe I read all your posts.

I’ve played Minecraft for a long long time - many years. I haven’t spent a penny on it since I started playing it a decade or so ago. I didn’t even know you could spend money on it. So if that’s one of your examples that’s leading us to think it will be expensive I’m not following.

Maybe you will be able to solo it like a video game. I wouldn’t be expecting the next iteration of Baldurs Gate though.
Minecraft is a great example, being split into two code bases for different purposes. Minecraft Java was the orignal platform and is supported by a large community providing modules, most of which can be accessed for free. There's a strong correlation to WotC D&D's original intent with the OGL here.

Minecraft Bedrock was developed for cross-platform and has the Minecraft Marketplace for paid expansions, from both Mojang/ Microsoft and 3rd parties. It's all optional, but its easy for kids to overspend on their parents credit cards and has recieved criticism for being "predatory".

You've provided guesswork and assumptions. Made unfounded associations to video games.

I don't care what corporate spin or label management puts on Sigil for PR purposes. It's a VTT. It's taken a bit of different direction than some of the other VTTs. They may add other functionality, even detailed support for other games, in the future.

But it's still just a VTT and will have to compete with other, more established, VTTs.

Isn’t that closer to DMs Guild though? Community made content purchased for relatively small amounts. I had a look at the top 20 items and most were somewhere between $1 and $5. The most expensive Sponge Bob pack was $10. So is this an ideological objection to people selling things they’ve created, or is there a reason you think this is more dangerous in some way? None of this content is required to play the game.

Also something other VTTs do. Not an issue.

Now I am thinking about the option to use the software to create CGI comics, something style Marvel: Make your own. Of course all the content created by the players could need some review and moderation, to avoic possible troubles about NSFW content (Ravenloft and Dark Sun are a different threat).

For example an isekai story about people being hit by a truck and then sent to a fantasy world, but with a wicked twist to this trope. It was not an accident at all, but by an evil version of Optimus Prime from an parallel universe. And the cybertronians dead in that earth are reincarnated in the isekai as autognomes. The power of transformation has to arrive after.

The stands should be option, because some players will want to produce their own machinima videos, telling their games and being published in youtube.

I have seen better ones than this, here is a list of some i personally think RPG stories looks the best RPG Stories | Rpg Stories

others
adventurearchitect.net

I think some of these might be good for those who have lower-end computers so we have options but i think the D&D version will have its exclusive perks and content and that is how they will get you once you invest into it that far you're hooked.

That looks really cool! I hope they support more game systems with it. I will definitely keep an eye on it. Building something like this is very difficult and quite expensive so it will be interesting to see how much it costs.

Now I am thinking about collabs with no-d20 systems games.

Let's imagine a little fish, the publisher "Blackout Games" with their "Monster Wrangler". A mon TTRPG, like "Animon" or "Mystical: Kingdon of Monster". Then a player using the tools of D&D Beyond creates a solo-modo game about catching, collecting and training monsters. There is no-profit intention by the players. But then some 3PP is allowed to sell pictures (if somebody wants to use for homemade digital cards, or 2D miniatures) and virtual miniatures of their creatures. Who would do anything like this? For example Bandai to earn brand power for its franchise "Digimon" over its archirivial the superfamous Pokemon.
