The radio ads are better. I have a bunch of them on MP3.

The guy who does the background vocals is the lead singer for Survivor btw (the band, not the show)

I love these commercials! I'll never drink the product (hate beer!) but the commercials are great! The radio ones get me to turn up the volume so I can hear them, even over the laughter.

I've got a bunch on mp3 too. I think they're on the other comp.

Hating beer does not necessarily correlate with hating Bud Light, since (IMO) Bud Light =/= beer.

Bud Light == Slightly (just slightly) dirty water

And as such, is actually preferable to a number of other domestic beers.

Not that I'd drink it unless there was nothing better. And regular tap water is better.

I've tried several kinds of beer, not just Bud Light. And all taste the same to me: crappy. Although I'd like to see if German beer is better (IMO) than the American stuff.

[beer hijack]I was in my mid 20's before I discovered a beer I liked...Shiner Bock.

I followed that up with the Jamaican beer, Dragon Stout.

Since then, I've added Shiner Blonde, Chimay (all 3), Kirin Ichiban, Killian's Red, Harp, Newcastle Brown to my list. I use Guiness for cooking.

I got to do a tour of the Celis brewery and found some tasty ones in their line as well.

I've tried the German beers, and found them to be quite enjoyable...and after a trip to Moscow and St. Petersburg, I pretty much equate Russian beer to German in quality, esp. the entire output of a particular Russian brewery I got to visit .

I HATE Samuel Adams.

Danny, as a friend, I say this with all love - if you are cooking with Guinness (you left out an 'n' by the by), you've missed the point, lad. :\ As a person of Irish heritage it was my duty to point that out before I track you down and kill you. Since you are a friend, I'll let you repent of this autrocity so I don't have to.

Not to further derail this thread, but how does one cook with guiness?

Many many ways.

Usually, I use it as a marinade for meats or a base for sauces.

Take some ribs- I prefer pork, but beef works as well- and marinate them overnight in a mix of Guinness, lemon juice and some of your preferred spices (I use onion, garlic, and black pepper). You can do the same with ground meat.

Drain off the liquid and re-season them for cooking (grill or oven bake).

After you cook them, they'll be so tasty, juicy & tender that you might not even want to use BBQ sauce.

Besides, I got the idea from 2 Irish cooks, so I figure I'm in good company. The first was the owner of what was one of the best Irish pubs in D/FW- Slattery Rands- whose Guinness Burgers were the best I've ever had. (They're gone now...they didn't pay their rent ). The second one is the head chef at the Guinness brewery, whose marinated steak tips are the #1 dish served at that location, which, coincidentally, makes it the #1 dish served at tourist locations in all of Ireland.

Harp is good! Actually the best chili I ever had was made with a Guinness base. Yummers.

And so I dropped a 'w' in now, no biggie; dropping the 'n' in Guinness...my family will show up and bludgeon me with their shillelaghs.
